Between working on the new video and working for the man, I didn’t have time to blog about Pulseman yesterday. But when it comes to this game, YOU should really make the time.

Pulseman was a Japan-only Sega Genesis game released in 1994 by GameFreak, the people who would later catapult to fame as the makers of Pokémon. But you would never know it from this masterful and blistering action title, where the titular hero can move at the speed of light across electrical wires, enter the circuitry of TVs, virtual reality headsets, and 80′s arcade machines, and take on his evil, cybersex-happy father like it t’weren’t no thang at all. Pulseman’s pace rivals that of Sonic the Hedgehog, and its use of that elusive “Blast Processing” may be the next best thing in the entire Genesis library.

Before they set to work on dreaming up 1,093 believe-it-or-not creatures, GameFreak had a real hit on their hands. I definitely recommend Pulseman for anyone seeking a bit of a speed trip, a bit of an acid trip, and definitely a bit of great gaming.
